Organizational Change
There is a lot of change happening at workplace level in organizations
in Ireland in both the private and public sectors. A reading of studies
on organizational change suggests that there are a number of reasonable
conclusions that can be reached about organizational change in general.
These are that:
-
Strong external and internal pressures must be present for managers, employees and union representatives to accept the need for change
-
Change is not easy and many change initiatives seem to fail or at least falter
-
There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution for all situations
-
Successful change requires leadership and planning
-
Involvement of employees and trade unions seems to help in the planning and implementation of changes, especially in establishing ‘ownership’
-
A willingness to face up to unpalatable truths about organizational performance seems to help and this can only happen in a climate of openness and trust
-
Resistance and conflict are inevitable, sometimes necessary and helpful, and need to be factored into any plan for change.
We provide a range of customized course on organizational change that
are aimed at equipping participants with a sound understanding, based
on drawing out their own experiences, of the dynamics of organizational
change and with the concepts and tools to analyze and plan a change
within their own organization.
